hereUare technology is based on 802.11 Wireless Ethernet standards, also known as Wi-Fi/WiMax, which is the adopted standard for wireless Internet access. This technology creates a Local Area Network (LAN) - similar to the one at various work places.Radio frequency (RF) connections between a base station and laptop computers fitted with add-on wireless cards replace the wires and cables of a conventional Local Area Network. The other features of this technology is that it:

  • Delivers high-bandwidth access -- performance for various protocols vary from 2Mb per second to 54Mb per second.
  • Can be adopted to any new evolving 802.11 standard, such as 802.11g, and Wi-Fi/WiMax.
  • Is simple to install and will further popularize mobile computing and wireless technologies.

For more details, download information on the hereUare system. Essentially, hereUare technology consists of two major components, all working together to create an enterprise scale Wi-Fi/WiMax environment. These components are:

eCoinBox

The patent pending centerpiece of the hereUare network system, is a solid state, highly integrated, small footprint access controller. This low cost device is deployed at every independent location to control on-site hardware, such as access points and wired Ethernet ports. The eCoinBox functions as a gatekeeper between the station and the Internet as a whole. It is responsible for blocking access to general Internet traffic until the user has authenticated and has been authorized to access the Internet. Furthermore, the eCoinBox has the capability to attach local printers, storage devices and computers in a secure zone and communicates with hereUare's Backoffice for authentication, authorization, encryption, accounting, billing, security and roaming features.

hereUare's Backoffice

hereUare's Backoffice consists of the Operations Support System (OSS) that is centrally installed to allow all eCoinBoxes to be managed remotely and is responsible for all billing, administration and configuration of tasks. Architecturally, the Backoffice consists of an Access Server and a Commerce Server (described in the 'Architecture' section), and is responsible for managing the complete network infrastructure.

hereUare's Backoffice application within the Commerce server consists of two main sections, namely the Partner Administration and the Customer Resource Center (CRC). The Partner Administration is responsible for System Management, Account Management, Access Management and for Pricing and Reports, whereas the CRC provides the capability for hereUare Administrators, Partners and Customers to manage their accounts and billing tasks.
